The Match For FREE Online
The Reds had looked like dropping points against the Latics after Amr Zaki's first-half double, either side of a Dirk Kuyt effort, gave the visitors a shock interval lead.

Premier League games
Hospitality for our forthcoming Premier League games against Wigan Athletic and Portsmouth has sold out - but we still have off-site packages available based at The Sandon, a short five minute walk away from the stadium.
This hugely popular match day bar was the birthplace of Liverpool FC and is now a favoured meeting place for supporters to gather for a drink before the game.
Our hospitality suites are separate from the main bars, however you will still be able to experience the match day build up from the comfort of your lounge.

Liverpool
John Toshack went home with the match ball as Liverpool cantered to a 3-1 win over Birmingham City on this day in 1975.
The Welsh frontman opened the scoring on 13 minutes with a fortuitous header and then doubled the Reds' advantage just shy of the hour mark with a fierce drive.
The visitors set up a nervy ending when they hit back on 80 minutes through Hatton before Toshack claimed his hat-trick and secured the points for Liverpool with a third four minutes from time.

Classic Liverpool
The Great Debate returns to LFC TV on Monday night at 9pm and this time we want to know what was the greatest decade on the pitch for the Reds - the Seventies or the Eighties?
The Sixties might have seen Bill Shankly rebuild the club and lead the Reds to FA Cup glory while the Noughties have already seen Gerard Houllier and Rafael Benitez land 10 trophies between them but neither decade can touch the Seventies and Eighties for sheer footballing domination.
Now we want you, the supporters, to decide whether it's the Seventies or the Eighties that can lay claim to being the best decade on the pitch for Liverpool Football Club?
Were Liverpool achievements during the 1970s - lifting a first European trophy in 1973, being crowned Kings of Europe four years later and winning four titles - enough to secure the title of Liverpool's greatest footballing decade?

Gerrard Will Win
Gerrard will win his 69th cap in the Wembley encounter as England look to build on their 100 per cent record in their World Cup qualifying group.
The Liverpool midfielder believes he has been used in his most effective position when winning only five of his caps so far - but Capello insists he will continue to employ Gerrard in a position where he can regularly repeat his world class club form.
"I think Steven Gerrard is a fantastic player," said Capello yesterday. "For tomorrow, I think you will see Gerrard in a very important position on the field, his long-term position.

I just love Skrtel
Skrtel faces up to three months on the sidelines after suffering knee ligament damage at Manchester City last weekend - and Thompson insists whoever gets the call to replace him will have a tough job to replicate the form of the Slovakian stopper.
"I just love Skrtel," said Thompson. "He has made a real impression at the club. People talk about Fernando Torres, but this lad could be a real gem.
"It's how he plays the game which impresses me. No matter if we're playing Stoke City or Manchester United, he gives everything he has in terms of commitment and passion. liverpool.
